bottom. It was inhabited by the ancient reptiles. Later the ocean
dried out, revealing the bottom of the ocean, and the remains of the
dinosaurs and other amazing ancient animals became the scientific
evidence of life on Earth. In middle ages, it was also a very busy
place. The Silk road and the Salt road went here, the merchants were
carrying valuable goods. In later times, there was a camp place for

secret place. The boatmen would jump ashore in hope to find rescue,
but they would slide down the wet grass straight into the hands of the
pirates. There was no escape. Some found their death there, others
were sold into slavery. As the legend says, somewhere in this area
Stepan Razin's hoard was buried still unfound.
In our days, it is very quiet here; there are only a few fishermen's
boats on the bank. Yet the lonely crags still remember the past.
В далекие времена, когда континенты все еще двигались, а вулканы
бурлили, этот берег Волги был морским дном. Здесь плавали древние
рептилии. Потом море высохло, дно обнажилось, и останки динозавров,
других удивительных древних животных, морские раковины стали
материалом для изучения жизни Земли. Здесь было очень оживленно и в
средние века. Шелковый путь, Соляной путь проходили здесь, купцы везли
ценный товар. Позже здесь была стоянка бурлаков (наёмный рабочий в
России XVI-- конца XIX веков, который, идя по берегу, тянул при помощи
бечевы речное судно против течения), они останавливались здесь, чтобы
отдохнуть и искупатьсыя в бане (отсюда и название местности -
Банновка). В этих местах орудовали речные пираты во главе со Стенькой
Разиным. Рядом есть местечко, называемый Тюрьмой. Молодчики Стеньки
Разина загоняли купеческие корабли в это тайне местечко. Речники
бросались на берег в надежде спастись, но по скользкой траве
соскальзывали вниз, прямо в руки к пиратам. Убежать никто не мог.
Одних убивали, других продавали в рабство. По легендам Рядом с этим
местом закопан клад Степана Разина, который до сих пор никем не
найден.
Сегодня здесь очень тихо. Только несколько рыбацких лодок на берегу.
Но одинокие утесы до сих пор помнят о прошлом.
